Savin Karki became a director from dancing to singing
Savin Karki is a name heard by the young generation who are interested in Nepali music. Some know him as the Beast. He named himself Savin Karki 'Beast'.
He has a YouTube channel with the same name. In which there are more than 6.5 million subscribers.
Until a few years ago, Savin was just a dancer, dancing in music videos of songs. Joined the cartoon cruise. At that time, he danced to songs like 'Fantastic', and 'Viral Bhaiidio...' and many people liked him. Those videos have been watched by millions on YouTube.
While dancing, Savin became a choreographer and started acting. Now he writes songs, sings, does comedy, and makes music videos. He also directs the video himself.
Now 27 years old, Savin is confident that he can work in every genre of music.
I think you should give your hundred percent in any work. I want to make some contribution in the field I work in', he said to Setopati, 'There are two types of artists here: one who lasts, sells, and stays and the other tries to advance this field itself. I want to make some contribution in this field and move forward.'
Born in Gulmi, Sawin was interested in dancing from an early age. The atmosphere in his home was also musical.
"My mother was in the Nepali Artist Association," Savin said, "She used to get tickets for the premiere of the film. I used to go too. At that time, I got to see many artists like Harivansh Acharya up close. Maybe I was inspired from there.'
He danced for the first time in class eight. Everyone loved the way he danced when he went to play Deusi Bhailo from school. He says that he feels like he can dance too after everyone says 'You danced so well'.
His friends all kept their stage names. Lahalhaima Savin also added Beast after the name. To which he has taken two meanings, one of the best and the other of Satan.
He was a badass as a child!
'There are one or two people who hurt others in the class! I was into it. Now I understand that it should not be done," Savin said, "I used to tell jokes in class. Friends laughed. After everyone gave encouragement, my confidence increased.
At that time, no one thought that life would go on by dancing and comedy. Savin still remembers how many people teased him about what would happen after dancing.
"Where was the respect to see and give to dancers and comedians like now!" he said.
Even though others teased, Savin did not lose courage and did not stop dancing. He joined Cartoon Cruise. After nearly a decade at Cartoon Cruise, he left.
He had a burning desire to do something new, which was not being fulfilled by dancing. Then he took up choreography.
I was able to contribute to dance by dancing. Because of that, some people felt comfortable," said Savin, "When I lived in India almost six years ago, I thought that I should do something new. At that time, I bought and sent materials to my brother for production.
About 7 years ago, he got the idea that I would sing now. That is why he learned and practiced music. Later he released 'Tori Rap'. Which was liked by the viewers/listeners.
Recently, his new song 'Sabhi ok hai...' has been released. This is his fifth song. After Tori Rap, he released the songs 'Sapnaharu Ferdi', 'O A', and 'Dukkh Poetry'.
Savin is confident that he can do anything in this field where the audience/listeners have loved his art in every genre of music.
At first, I didn't have the confidence to dance, but later I became proficient in it. Now I am in the stage of learning in the field of music,' he said, 'one day I am constantly trying to become great in music.'
He has the confidence that he can do anything that can be done in music as long as he has music.
He is currently working with his brother Sanjay Karki in Beast Productions.
He says that since he is doing all the work himself, it is a bit late to deliver the new dose to the audience. Savin plans to focus only on writing in the coming days.
He suggested that passion should be brought together in this area as well as Hos.
"Jose should not be for a short period either. You have to maintain that zeal and move forward,' said Savin, 'now it is easier if you can learn how to make yourself active in the market from a business point of view.'
