India won the game, Nepal won the hearts of the world

Nepal has given a respectable performance in the first match against India, the cricket maestro who has won the World Cup twice. Nepal, which started participating in one-day internationals after 44 years from India, competed against Test nation India for the first time in the ACC Asia Cup held in Kandy, Sri Lanka on Monday. Despite the defeat, the Nepalese batsman performed brilliantly against the Indian team full of world cricket's best players.

The batting skills of Nepalese players against India have been praised by cricket experts and spectators alike. Earlier, last Wednesday, Nepal competed against Pakistan, the number one in the world cricket rankings. Nepal has got a chance to introduce itself to the world through the competition with the two cricket powerhouses, while the players have gained experience along with the opportunity. With these games, Nepal has also indicated that it is an emerging nation of cricket.

The Nepali team scored 230 runs losing all wickets in 48.2 overs with a strong performance on the field against India. Nepali openers Asif Sheikh and Kushal Bhurtel shared a partnership of 65 runs for the first wicket. Asif scored 58 runs off 97 balls. Kushal returned to the pavilion after scoring 38 runs. Bhurtel has completed 1000 career runs from this match. All-rounder Sompal Kami, who came to the crease at number eight, played an innings of 48 runs. Dipendrasingh Airey and Sompal shared a partnership of 50 runs for the seventh wicket. Dipendra contributed 29 runs.

However, Nepal was defeated by 10 wickets as the players could not move towards bowling. Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Subhman Gill, who created a stir in world cricket, completed the target of 145 runs without losing a wicket. As India chased down the target of 231 runs, it rained. The game was stopped for about an hour when India scored 17 runs in 2.1 overs. In the restarted match, India got a new target of 145 runs.

Captain Rohit and Subhuman won against Nepal with 17 balls to spare. Rohit scored 74 runs off 59 balls with six fours and five sixes. Subhaman scored 67 runs off 62 balls with eight fours and one six. Karan KC, Sompal, Lalit Rajvanshi, Sandeep Lamichhane, Dipendra, Kushal Malla and Gulsan Jha went wicketless against India.

Nepali captain Rohit Paudel said that if batting is good in the middle order, there is a possibility that the game will go in favor of Nepal. "Both the openers played very well. Couldn't be better in the middle order. We could have done better. Another 30-40 runs should have been added. Had it reached 260-270, the game could have been in our favor," he said. After the match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma also responded that Nepal initially put them under pressure. "Against Nepal, we were under some pressure in the beginning. We were able to gradually regain our rhythm. "Even though the bowling was good against Nepal, we failed in the fielding," he said.

This is the fifth time that Nepal is playing against a Test nation. In the previous match of Group A, they played against Pakistan. Earlier, they played against Zimbabwe, West Indies, and Ireland in World Cup qualifiers. Nepal faced defeat in all Test matches against opponents. Today's Naya Patrika Dainik has news.
